George Maharis war ein griechisch-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Sänger und bildender Künstler, der in den ersten drei Staffeln der Fernsehserie Route 66 Buz Murdock verkörperte. Auf dem Höhepunkt seines Ruhms nahm Maharis auch mehrere Popmusikalben auf und spielte 1970 die Hauptrolle in der Fernsehserie The Most Deadly Game.
